unlisted 1921-D? (solved)

Post by DHalladay » Sun May 15, 2022 3:20 pm

I can't find anything in the scribbles or die crack break guides for this coin, even though it has very clear examples of both. Can anyone help?

First is yet another long, bold crack from the denticles above F in OF that goes through the F and left wing and into the top of the right wreath (where it eventually ends below the berry above R in DOLLAR):

There is a strong diagonal crack from the left reverse star to the denticles below O in ONE, and an unusual vertical crack through the O into the wreath, and a long up-left crack from the E that runs through the lower wreath to the berry above the left star:

The first A in AMERICA has a nice gouge through it:

Toning obscures the scribbles in the left zone, but they are clear in the right zone, plus there is a small scribble on the outside of the leg:

These are some fine photographs, they make you want to seek out the 1921-D. Thanks!
