1879-S light tweak

Hello everyone.
JB sparked my interest in the 1879-S with all the work he just did on them.

Please take a look at these LFCPs of my 79-S:

My main interest is in the Rev. at the left star. By tweaking the 'Light' just right I came up with these two close-up photographs of my area of interest:

Could these be photographs of die gouges?

From the above photo, I am thinking a Planchet error mimicking a die gouge...probably easy for them to do that!


I have attributed this coin as 1879-S Vam 12.

For 79-S, start with the date, mint mark, and the leaves opposite the N in ONE.

I am afraid the acetone may wash my dreams away... I think those gouges are barely on there. I will work on the date first. Thanks, you guys. I am allergic to C3H6O, anyway. (I had to look at the can for formula.)
