1888-S "What Do You Think" ???

Double date and possible double mint mark,but "What Do You Think" of the scratches on the obverse & reverse? Polish lines,planchet issue,PMD or something else? All comments welcomed!!!!

Think you already know and are just hoping you're wrong. That second U in UNUM tells the story ... damage. All of the scratches around the area are from that same grinding hit.

The stuff on the reverse looks like die scratches though.

J.R. doesn't get that moniker for nothing,(Crusher of Hopes & Dreams)Heh!! Heh!!. And he's right about that wishful thinking,kind of knew,but still had my doubts, bought it in an NGC holder marked MS62 PL. The markings coming from the "O" in OF,looks mint caused,though.
