picking you brains

Post by fogie » Fri Apr 22, 2022 7:23 pm

I am looking for feedback on the theory that 1882-O VAMs 1B, 26(26A) and 42A are all the exact same die pair. @messydesk @vampicker @etc....

Can't swear to the VAM 1B, but comparing the 42 and 42A plates to the original VAM 26A plate does demonstrate they are all the same.

What's the difference between "exact same die pair" and "same die pair?" (BTW - someone named Lecter already picked my tiny brain....)

I use the "exact same die pair" for exactly that and I do so because I noticed that the set of words "same die pair" was use to referr to the "same die classification" - and that has proven not to be very helpful in some cases. (It was wrong even...). When I use the "exact same die pair" - I have confirmed that -on my examples- they really are.

Thanks! Now I understand the redundancy.
