Hello, everyone. I took photographs for a friend. They were of coins he found at the bottom of his Grandfathers sock drawer.
I didn't get a chance to really look at the photos I took closely; until just now. Please take a look at the rev. on his 1925-p.
I attempted to outline my interests.

My friend is a reclusive bachelor farmer and I try to respect his privacy, but I would 'knock on his door' if there was a chance he had a listable coin!
I have not determined the Vam of this coin.
Would you bug him?
Thanks for looking!

I see polished clashing of the reverse. I see no evidence of clashing on the obverse.
Without letter transfer, it's a clashed rev. die. Maybe one of the Peace "guru's" will chime in for your question, to me it does not meet submission criteria. That being said, you have the coin in hand, if it does not match any listing, your choice to send it or not.

Thanks for your input
@Albannach. I went through the list again for good measure but did not locate anything. The thread-like die impression is similar to others on a 1925-p but in different locations. The missing feathers on the eagle's neck are not to be found, but It reminds me of
VAM 1T a
polished away ray. I just noticed the eagle's eye die chip, but that could be PMD. I do not have the coin in hand to be sure.
They seem to have gone to a lot of trouble to polish away something in the field next to the eagle's breast.
An Interesting coin all in all; along with new respect I just gleamed for the efforts of Dr. Close, it just may be worth 'knocking on my friend's door.'

Interesting, the Eagles neck feathers look similar to the 1926 S V2F3. Maybe when Dr. Close starts excepting possible new VAM's, he could have a look. I too, went thru the 25's and couldn't find anything similar, but I knew I'd seen the polished neck feathers before. Cool find!
Good luck!

@jrfaust
Thanks for your encouragement and your memory of the missing neck feathers on that
1926-s Vam 2F3 for a nice comparison.
Here are some quick, unedited snapshots of the area of the coin we are looking at. I am hoping that makes a difference somehow. (my first photos in this thread are full of Darkside illusions

) I have the coin in hand and out of its plastic wrapper.

I agree with jfaust. I have not seen this before, so it would be listable, for the overpolished neck feathers, but I would need to see the coin first.
Please sent it to

Geseas, Dr. Close's suggestion of looking at 11B is the closest to this rev. I discovered the 11C so I compared yours to mine. Before you send it to the good Dr. Check to see if there are gouges to left side of G in GOD and V in TRVST....they are very light gouges. Also, check above PEACE and see if it has this Thread like impression. Both 11B and 11C has this.....Good Luck!

Great Fun for me when I get an opportunity to attempt photographs!
Thank you for your interest.
There is a die gouge left of the 'G' in God on the coin in question. Here is a photo:

I found nothing at the'V' that looks like even a remnant of a gouge, no matter how I twist the light

I did find what I think is a remnant of the thread above 'Peace' on rev. What do you think? Photo:

Here is another photo of the Rev. I found interesting. There just seems to be something different going on around those eagle's neck feathers. I would send in if you are remotely interested

YUP! I believe the good Dr. is spot on....Looks like a VAM 11B. My 11C is MS63 and I can barely see the gouge left side of V in TRUST, yours look way more circulated so hard to tell. The die impression above PEACE in your pic is exactly in the same position as mine. If there is a die scratch to the upper right of I in LIBERTY you got a 11C.
Hopefully Dr. Close will confirm
Nice pics, by the way
