PMD? I don't think so now
My journey into 1921-D Land is turning into all kinds of interesting. The latest example is this still-unattributed coin that I will post later with more conventional attribution photos.
But right now I want to show a sequence of 5 photos of the P in PLURIBUS. When I first saw the big bump on the base, I assumed it was PMD. But after taking super-closeup photos I have changed my mind – especially because of the first few that sure seem to show a slight separation between the bottom of the P and the top of the big bump. Now my suspicion is the bump is half of a badly placed 'Dot', of which there are several throughout the 1921-D series.
These photos are in the order they were taken. The coin was never touched. The only differences are the light source was gradually moved from above the P to under the P.
Any thoughts or comments?

When in doubt... don't.

Looks like the right size to be one of those dots.
Refrain from computing the total number of poultry... before the process of incubation has fully materialized.

Looks fake.

It has good potential! I am tending towards it being "as struck".
