While photo-documenting my 1880-S VAM-11 I noticed the date appears to be a normal slanted date. The full coin photo in the VW VAM-11 Page also shows a slanted date. I don't know why the slanted date wasn't included as an attributable feature. Please have a look at the photograph I took of my VAM-11's date at the link provided below. Isn't this a slanted date? And if it is, I recommend that the VW VAM-11 Page be amended to note this as an attributable feature?

I suspect the reason it wasn't included is because the underdate feature is so prominent that everything else becomes meaningless.
When in doubt... don't.

In the early days of attributing VAMs LOTS of details were overlooked/unlisted. Today we realize that this can lead to relisting the same variety, so we try to be more thorough.
