Been a LONG time, too long! Missed having your input. Welcome back!! The VAM rocks too...kenny

For those of you that don't know Mr. Lee, he is one of the founders of VW 1.0 and a VAMmers VAMmer...
Thank you all for the kind words and opinions! I've missed posting here in VW, but I didn't really post a whole lot prior to the move either. Kenny, I think you may have me confused with someone else. VW 1.0 was around well before I was bit by the VAMpire bug. I was not a founder of VW, but I appreciate the kind words.

For what it's worth, any images that I post that I photographed are more than welcome to be used in VW. The coins can be isolated from my background if you wish as well.

That was my initial thought as well. I've been hunting for an '89 23a as I am sure many here have as well. When I first saw the TV image, I got so excited! But the 23a is a much deeper clash compared to this one. This one is very delicate in that most of what is seen is the transfer of opposing die file lines to the obverse. There is certainly a strong clash as demonstrated by the depth of the wreath leaves in front of Liberty's face.

Here's a close-up that shows why the clash looks so strong. The obverse has rather strong polishing lines going from 11:00-5:00. So does the reverse, but when they clash, they become oriented 1:00-7:00 on the obverse. Where the fields clashed, you can see the two sets of polishing lines criss-crossing, otherwise you only see the obverse polishing lines.

Great images!! They really show how delicate and probably short lived this clash stage was.

Thank you! The excitement I felt when I saw the TV image was amazing. I knew instantly, I had to have it. It's so cool to have a clash strong enough that you can see it with the naked eye.

Another of my favorites and very rare. This die clashed and polished Quite a few times with rotation between clashes. A superb pick!
