The price guide has been enabled in the SSDC registry. Go give it a test drive! Under the General section, click on VAM Value Guide.

Awesome! I think the 1878 values have increased pretty dramatically the past year. I doubt you can buy any MS63 1878 R79's for less than $400 and the guide has a VAM-203 listed at $285. I think the MS64 1878 R78 values are lower than the currently market too.

I will gladly by an 1878 VAM-45 in MS65 for $850 (Please, anyone? lol) (no really PM me )

I was given permission to view this earlier. If you see errors and such, email. Right now the TOP 100 1887 P VAM 12/A has a VG8 price incorrect.
Anyway what I asked for is on certain VAM's or certain grades that is close to common. To use a ratio factor, as silver price effect these. By using a ratio factor price, no need to update price sheet.
Example is a no premium VAM could have a 1.0 factor like the 1887 P VAM 12 in low grade. Or it could have a 1.X factor or higher, depends on the VAM or grade. Naturally better VAM's or mega rare one's will require a hard number as sales and rarity can dictate the price.
You can see a PO1 coin is higher. I have seen a PO1 1897 P bring 1K. A hard nose lowballer will pay real money for certain coins. However don't get your hopes up of making a small fortune. I have sent in coins, come back FR2, problem or no holder. Now you have over double your money in a cull.

AWESOME WORK FELLAS!!! It's GREAT to finally have a reference again!
I stayed in my lane and focused on the WOW! VAMs and found a couple issues:
1888-O VAM-1a1 and VAM-1a2 aren't part of the set.
The same is true for the 1889-O VAM-13a.
Outside of that, it does seem that the general market may have outpaced some things.
As far as specific values, the 81-O VAM-33b is one that I'll openly say "if you have one, I'll buy it for the listed price +50%!"
I can also give you a basis for the 80-P VAM-25c. I bought an MS-62 from Brian for $300 and felt like a felon when the deal was done.
On the other side, I think the pricing for the 1889-P VAM-19b2 is a bit generous, unless it is based solely on actual sale prices.

All in all, the value of my particular set is within a couple hundred dollars by the guide as it was when I priced it out without the guide, so I'll say things averaged out pretty well!

It would be nice if we could make VAMs popular enough to realize differences in some stages/related VAMs, like the 90-S v2b/v29 (v29 is more scarce) and even the difference between the EDS/LDS of VAMs like 90-O v2b and 88-P v4a, where there are distinct differences in those stages...

It is designed to be dynamic also. So it will always be in progress. Those with attention on the market will be able to react to observed changes and relate them in the price guide in a timely manner.

Or at least analyzed for the price ? AKA we PM the price that we purchased one of the VAMS and the person in charge of the price list analyzes that price to post it . Just want to give more info to get a more accurate price guide for the crew .
And also others Im sure have some info to share . But its a VERY great start to a Great Price Guide !!! Well done and

When I purchase a VAM that the seller knows what it is or with a label. I email Dennis H. If I buy one that the seller has given me a gift of a deal, I do no report this.

Congratulations on a lot of work well done. There will always be the feeling that some of our favorites should be lower when we buy and higher if we ever sell (what is sell?). This is very good step towards normalizing a very fluid market. The auction outliers, where an abnormal bid gets the coin, need to be somehow held at arms length before including. I sometimes bid too high as I become entranced with a coin, often as I have purchased a raw one at my favorite coin shop and go looking for a higher grade even if I don't know what the premium should be.

I venture to say IMHO this is the
most important workings to be
assembled for our members.

We needed guidance & validity
on values. Now members can at
least get a gauge on value, withot
looking in umteen places.
As time passes this guide will help
keep vams/vamming alive and well,
Collectors are also investors & vice
versa and both need price guides
to make informed decisions.
