Has this been Photoshopped?
I once did that with a 88-O photo but by complete accident.
Don't know how I did it and have never been able to re-create it again...not that I've tried.
Interested in your story.

Like jr said. Not possible. A double strike would flatten out most of the primary strike. Aure looks like struck with false dies.

No chance of a planchet not ejecting and being restruct?
The full coin images would help a lot to see if the rotation was the same on both sides.

...Assuming it is manipulation. What kind is it? Any thoughts in this direction? Thanks
It could be a new direction for 22.
I sure hope not.

With Photoshop you really don't need a direction, but this looks like an image worth a little more study.
But without the full coin images real or fake is indeterminable.

The quarter appears legit, but I'd love to see the rims and edge in the area that took a second and third strike. It's worth noting the first strike is largely obliterated by the overstrikes.

For the dollar, the picture of the rims at UNITED and STATES alone is enough to condemn this thing. It doesn't suggest a problem. It screams fake. Think about what you're looking at.
Here's a piece to think over....
