ICG crossover to PCGS

Hi to all
What is the general crossover grade Hit from a ICG to PCGS ?
Has anyone done this and have some results ? Just was curious to hear some storys
about this .

Imagine it depends on the coin.

Based upon coins I have seen in ICG holders, I'd consider a hit of only one grade to be a nice win.

In my opinion very slim.
When ICG started I think they were better then now days.

ABSOLUTELY - I submit hopeful upgrades to PCGS only occasionally from ICG graded specimen. I feel like a fair grade is awarded only if coin is submitted raw. Two memorable submissions resulted in UPGRADE from VF 35 (ICG) into XF 40 PCGS holders. 1844 Liberty Seated Dime and 1875 cc Liberty Seated Twenty Cent Piece

My experiences involve breakouts only
as submitting another TPG slab to PCGS-
NGC- Anacs is a waste of time & money
Sending raw is fair & levels the playing field

ICG coins are overgraded a avg of 1 point
with some 2 pt- so i discount my buy price
on each individual purchase, so i dont lose
my ass. LOL
Some astuit collectors/sellers use ICG to
grade their coins then flip em on ebay,
as they count on receiving ICG grades 1 pt
higher than PCGS/NGC which puts a ms64
in ICG ms65 worth $100 more/premium
Do that 100 times and walla= $10k

ICG is pretty acurate on AU morgans &
ms 62+ is where their overgrading begins
IMHO.

IMHO" . Thats seems like a accurate statement and What I was thinking also .
Aka Low Grade Morgans are pretty accurate but still might be over graded . But the
Higher MS stuff you can really lose your pants on . Of course its Buy the COin and Not the holder . But sometimes the pictures on EBAY or dealer web sites are Not as Clear as can be .
So sometimes we take the Gamble .

But also the statments of a Upgrade / Crossover with a Raw subbmision to be fair Graded with PCGS
is also a Important Point . I have submitted coins for crossover that thought should go higher then the stated grade and of course did not .
Im kind of hesitant of doing a Crackout of a coin , just dont Know the correct procedure to do as such . I dont want to mess up the coin !! LOL

Taking 2-2.5 points off for crossover is legit. 1923 ms66+ ended up ms64,, 1878 v45 dropped from 64 to 62. I bought them accordingly. At first they were pretty tight but then the big grading staff raid brought about changes. Then it changed again and things got worse. Now, mark yaffe has become the finalizer and things are better but there are huge bunches of overgraded stuff out there from before. I’ve had a number of really good conversations with him lately.
