Hard life for sure and not pretty, not rare, and raw, but one I'd like to put to rest and I'm failing.
Remnants of a clash under the chins of lady Liberty (shown) and the eagle (not shown), but no letter transfer obv or rev that I can tell. Dash 8 is very light, kinda fitting the VAM-30 description but the mm is normal (according to my eye).
LIBERTY is scratchless, no other digits doubled or notched, no other PUPs that I can see.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Gary

Most of the 3’s from 1883 show what appears to be a punch issue.

Re: 1883-O dash 8 notch 3
Thanks for the reply, @raynat3. I'd hate, though, to post blank pictures. I've triple checked - RTY completely clean (well, minus dirt and rust spots); ear only has wax/dirt, no scratches or chips, and wing-neck gap lacks all scratching.
Afraid to say I don't have much more to go on thank I've posted. I know without more, there is little chance of it being attributed, but thought it might spark an idea from more seasoned eyes.
Thanks again!
Gary
