Post by JohnGoldsmith » Sat Aug 14, 2021 11:49 pm

Since this is the D and it don't have a 1921 reverse. Are we going to call it Rev of 79? :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Technically, this is a significantly new hub, so from the standpoint of the VAM catalog, it would be an E reverse. Don't tell Russ.

Should we be glad and/or surprised the Mint didn't do a West Point release too?

I'd say thankful.
When in doubt... don't.

I'm surprised. Would have been nice to see a proof of each come from West Point, an actual mint rather than those iffy privy mint marks so technically we have three P's, an S and a D. So when the 2121 commemoratives comes out and West Point has closed how happy do you think collectors will be then to get some dodgy privy marks with a W on it. Sure it lacks the following of a CC or O but with the 2021 we still don't have those mint marks, just a privy mark. That said I'm still confused why there is a CC and not a NO for New Orleans and SF for San Francisco or WP for West Point. Just an observation. :D

Me too!
It would be as close as I'd get to owning a proof '21.
When in doubt... don't.
