25 P reverse question

Post by JASONKFLO » Sun Aug 08, 2021 4:03 pm

Just curious if this pitting looks like Post mint damage on the reverse?
I am not really sure what would of caused it .
I can get a close up if that helps as well.
I have not really looked through to check the vam yet on the shortened ray so please do not give it away.
Thanks as always

Looks like bag marks from reeded edges of other silver dollars (PMD).

Because of it's localized position, I wouldn't rule out some sort of enviro damage either. It just looks to organized to me...

I see the PMD mentioned, but it appears that the underlying coin is VAM 1L
