If you start with a complete picture of Obverse and Reverse it helps in the ID process. Date position and MM position are a good place to start with attribution...kenny

James LEE,
You take some nice photos.
It would be helpful to take two close up photos when you need help to identify your VAM.
First, a date closeup that includes the bust point and the rim. That way it is easier to accurately identify the date location.
Second, if your coin has a mint mark, a photo that is upright with the mint mark and the rim. This helps identify the exact mm location.

Welcome to the madness of VAMming.

I'm taking a picture on my phone, so I have to be very careful, I'm sorry I'm late.

Okay,
I got your VAM-#.
Exact date and mint mark locations are very important.
Your photos really helped.
Date and mint mark locations were told to me many many times when I first started VAMming.

Could you take a close up of the eagle's neck wing gap? As you look at the reverse, it is the gap to the right of the eagle's neck.
Do you have an idea of what VAM I think you have?

Yes, your photo's now show sufficient information to attribute this VAM with the tools available on VAMWorld.

In fact, your photos are pretty good and show some attributes not seen in VAMworld photos before. As soon as you identify the VAM, I'll post them to the page.

No one is being cagey with you, It's good to learn VAMing by doing, which will improve your VAMing skills and is really the objective of this website. You nailed the VAM 10A on your other thread after due consideration too. Congratulations.

Please be patient. I promise that I will give you the VAM number if you can't get it with a little coaching.
We really want to help you develop the skills to find VAMs on your own. Not because we don't want to help you. We do want to help you. But if you learn the skills to attribute on your own, it will help you every time you pick up a dollar when one of us is not there to do it for you. Your skill will improve and your confidence will grow.
You can do it! :)

Okay, now a little coaching.
I asked for close ups of the exact date and mm locations for a reason. As soon as you showed me good close ups it didn't take long to find your VAM. So what did I do?

I described what the date location and mint mark locations looked like to me.
Information on this is in Attribution 101
http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compu ... bution_101

I thought that the date was at the far left edge of normal.
I thought that the MM was upright and centered, high or very high.
So I went to the 1900-O VAM listings.
http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compu ... 900-O_VAMs

At the top of the VAM listing page there is a link for "1. Sort by Reverse design".
I went searching for high or very high upright and centered Os and a normal date.
So this reduces the number of VAMs that I need to check by a very large amount.
High Os & normal date = 7
Very high O & normal date = 2
Take your pick on where you want to start eliminating VAMs, a group of 2 or a group of 7.

Let us know what you find.
You can do it.

Hint; look closely at your mm close up photo. Did you notice all of the lines in the eagle's lower tail feathers.

Congratulations. You are now on the way to becoming a successful VAMmer.

Leroy doesn't list everything seen on a coin. A VAM by definition is a die classification, so multiple dies of the same VAM may exist. This concept is difficult at times to reconcile with a coin in hand.
