O.T. Washington 'Jetpack' lamination Error

I believe what we may have is a lamination error where the contaminate that caused the problem
has leached out over time creating a contrail. It must have been some nasty stuff
to stain out like that... Just my guess; any ideas what may be happening? It is not a Morgan, but it is silver.

looks like it is blasting off!

Those scratches in the above photo appear to me to be in the die. I can not see them with a loupe; just the camera. An attempt to clean up a die break?

What happens when a weak planchet encounters a powerful sucking die crack/break?
