Trying To Attribute 1881-S Morgan

Post by GregK360 » Thu Jul 15, 2021 10:37 pm

I have an 1881-S Morgan that was Graded MS 63* by NGC from my collection. There is a spike shaped chip between the 5th and sixth right stars on obverse. Die chip/spike in left 8. A small dot in hair above right 8 and 1. Polishing in the right 8 upper loop in the bottom and going halfway up the right side. The bottom bar of 1 on right side almost appears to be slightly displaced. On the reverse, there is a die scratch starting on middle of right leg extending across the area just above the tail feathers. Another die scratch from the left side of eagles neck down into the left wing. Can't really tell if mint mark is doubled, re-punched or just got smacked by another coin.

It might help to post full obverse and reverse pics. It does have the same die chip in the first 8 as VAMs 9, 10, and 38.
I may not be the best, but I do not know anyone better.
