Here are obverse and reverse photos of a 1921 Peace dollar as posted in a PCGS thread. Thoughts?

It's VAM 1H, and hammered.

As spectacular a strike as you'll ever see on a 1921 Peace.
When in doubt... don't.

This is the obverse of the coin I own. They appear to be from the same die. The coin posted on PCGS has weakness in the upper obverse (rays are flat not rounded), and uniformity of color is a concern as far as dipping goes....it seems "too bright for being 100 years old" but if carefully protected.... I'd like to see better photos of the on on PCGS, and more information.

ANACS graded the coin MS64. The owner might bring it by at the ANA show for photos.

Both coin share the same dies. The 1921 posted near the end of the PCGS thread is also from the same dies.pup_picker wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 11:42 pmcollar clash rev k3-4

The original thread includes all the information about the ANACS coin that the owner has. There is no obvious reason for their grade of MS-64.

This coin appears to have the die scratch E of ONE parallel to the ray of VAM 1F. With the hind of a collar clash in the area of K4-5, it may be a VAM 1F2. I don't see the striations in the area of S O of VAM 1H.

Top photo looks like VAM 1H

The owner sold the coin for a sum in excess of $10,000. I do not know the exact price or buyer.
