Just purchased this coin and wanted to know if anyone has seen anything like it.
It's a vam for sure but it also has a die crack at 4 o' clock on the reverse. Interesting...

All Morgan and Peace dollars ARE VAMs, they don't HAVE VAMs. They are assingned a VAM number based on a die pairing that produced a coin. They do HAVE pick up points(PUPs) which will help you attribute which VAM you have. Now, your VAM is well circulated. Can you get a closer picture of the reverse die crack?...kenny

It looks like a cardboard fuzzy from a 2 by 2. Try poking it with a stick.

OK I described it incorrectly. There is a denticle at 4 o'oclock on the reverse that extends into the A of America.

Will need closer pics to get more detail. It's more than likely PMD, but I'm not ruling anything out just yet...kenny

A quick word on morgan dollars and coinage in general is they are not only antiques but with only a few million minted in respect to morgan and peace dollars well they are tremendously undervalued from a numismatic point of view.
Further, the ceiling that the market has placed on the spot price is an opportunity in disguise.
