This I got from my uncle today who does not deal in coins (of course I do) and he got this little book from one of his family friends who was a big time coin dealer who passed away a few years ago, and his family gave my uncle all his coin books, in which I got from my uncle.

I found it rather incredible :o that the third picture has the original 1963 price guide of these Klaes varieties.

Now I know that this is very seldom seen booklet which is probably quite valuable today.

That's a nice pickup, for sure! Tough to find. Enjoy!

You feed eagles what?

The $40 is for a 00-O/CC. I'll take the AU Hot Lips for $18. I have a feeling the 96-O, 00-O, and 02-O small O (i.e., micro O counterfeits) weren't attributed correctly for this price list, though. Way too many available and in high grades.

The print run on that little book must have been quite small, because it rarely came up for sale even back when I got my copy over 10 years ago.

If you folk want to, you can post these photos to the Klaes page if you need to perhaps for others to see as well.

I think I have a few of these around my house. I bought out a small group that I think turned up from the estate. Not 100% sure. anyway, I hope to put some in the VAM Thing raffle from time to time.

:)

I think it would be a nice addition to my library.
When is the VAM thing raffle held?

I know I have at least 3 of these varieties in my collection, the 1882-O/S vam-4, the 1888-O vam-4 hot-lips, and the 1900-O/CC vam-10, so I am always looking when I can.

You probably have more than that. A complete list of the VAMs that correspond to stuff in the Klaes book is in the "Klaes 51" list on the wiki.

In almost 60 years since publication, how much have prices changed in dollars and in adjusted dollars?
