D1 1921-P cracks mystery

Post by DHalladay » Sun Apr 11, 2021 5:05 pm

I don't have this in hand yet. Does anyone recognize these very LDS cracks – especially the ones through ONE? I found nothing remotely close in several looks through the die crack break guide. Thanks for any suggestions!

I don't recognize it, Dennis.

BTW I think the VAM 1BN and 1BP might be the same thing...

(edit - also VAM 1BD)

What I find interesting is that it's a 21-P with the "look" of a 21-S.

I haven’t had much time form VAMs in the last couple of months.
But the ONE crack makes me think of my 66A DC that I think is now an 86A?

I can't even make out the 17th berry Dennis but you would know. It keeps throwing me off though. :?

Shoot... it is a D2. What a dorf I am.

Update:
No it's not a D2. It's a D1 like I first thought. But it's not in the &#^(@!! D1 die crack break guide, despite having several very large cracks. ARGH!!

That middle finger sure looks like a D1 to me.
It also looks like the wreath took a hit right where the 17th berry should be.
Could it be that the 17th berry is no more?

Once again, my attribution failure and great frustration was due to a missing piece in the die crack break guide. I really hope I am not the only one who winds up buying unneeded duplicates because of such a simple thing that, when fixed, eventually benefits many others down the road.

I have already reached out to another board member to fix this situation.

I expect the coin to arrive toward the end of this week.
