Fake. 1893-S date position is arguably far or far side of normal. That has a near date position. Run away!

Might be an altered 1898-S VAM-16. On second look, it is just plain fake.

All the fakes I have seen have that same toning around the stars and the rim. Also the low prices is a give away.

Same reverse as my new 1893-CC VAM 六 with a different mintmark! It got the special sludge and sewage soak for "realistic" toning, though.
