VAMnesia setting in
So I bought this a couple of days ago off eBay. I didn't care what VAM it was. This was about color and the Paramount black holder. I figured I'd just ID it once I got it. It shows up today, and like most 79 Phillies, there's not a lot to go on. I certainly didn't recognize it - at best I had a slight sense of de'ja VAM, that feeling that I've seen this before. There's some minor repunching along the base of the 1 and that doubling on the 9 that's on like half the marriages for this year. I started going down the list for the doubled 1-9 descriptions and found it about halfway thru. Yup, VAM 47 discovered by me. What's worse is I spotted a duplicate listing of this marriage a few years ago and had Chris kill it off. I think I spotted that faster than this example. It is an upgrade and I was able to laugh at myself over it.

"VAMnesia" is a great word.

Maybe not exactly the same thing, but in perusing online auction photos of a series I am very familiar with, I saw something in the auction photos of a coin that I did not recognize. So I went for it. Turned out it was photo poop.

I too suffer from vamnesia. We know most not all information from crappy eBay pictures, and subconsciously we want to take a chance that our rare possible pick won’t let us down. More times than not,they do. This is the fun and frustration of this hobby.

Nice pickin'. Great additions to ones VAMcabulary...de 'ja VAM, and VAMnesia.
Refrain from computing the total number of poultry... before the process of incubation has fully materialized.

i keep running to peace dollar die breaks only to get them home and realize they were my discoveries. some time it upsets my stomach so i take some milk of vamnesia.
