1904 o VAM?

Post by Dmarq » Tue Mar 02, 2021 2:54 am

Hey all. I made an attempt to go through all of them, but I didn't see the VAM listed for the one pictured. I have others just like it.

Could one of you experts help me out? I'm sure I'm overlooking something or just completely wrong all together. Maybe counterfeit? Thanks.

Obv: crack on left stars, just below top lip extending out, and neck
Rev: all around us of a and from the left wing under in.

This coin is clashed strongly enough that there is lettering transferred to the obverse. In general, when you see this, you can go directly to the "sort by clashed die with letter transfer" (or some such wording) link, which pares down the search space significantly. Die cracks tend to be the last thing to be documented well. I only start with these for 1921-P and D.
