Six Stolen 1878s
Many sellers refuse to ship to Canada, so I've been getting Kenny to receive them and resend them to me. Kenny's last shipment arrived today but the box was tampered with and the six coins were not included with the receipts and packing material. The coins that were stolen are:
1) 1878s RAW
2) 1878s RAW VAM-27
3) 1878s VAM-26 F15 ANACS Reg #6275758
4) 1878s VAM-58 VG8 ANACS Reg #7125220
5) 1878s VAM-58 VG8 NGC Gene L. Henry Collection Reg #4270103-019
6) 1878s VAM-60 G06 PCGS Reg #133851.06/33183462
Be so kind to watch for my missing coins.

Re: Six Stolen 1878s
I think I will slow down a bit in my acquisitions now.

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my.........Ahh........Uhmm........something, something, something.....

Re: Six Stolen 1878s
This is terrible news. I too have ended my on-line coin purchases for the very same reason. Too many sticky fingers in the USPS system.

Horrible turn of events. Numismatic Crime Information Center · (817) 723-7231. Who's investigating? Peace Roy

Sorry for your misfortune.

Re: Six Stolen 1878s

So sorry to hear! Hope you recover the coins.

If it's not reported to them, nobody.

Re: Six Stolen 1878s
Sorry to hear this. I am sure they will show up somewhere as most people will not know what they have and will want to sell it quick. I would also notify local pawn shops if it was stolen locally from your Canadian post office. Will keep a look out for ya though.
I may not be the best, but I do not know anyone better.

Re: Six Stolen 1878s
It was an expensive package that should have been send registered. It value was marked on the outside and that made it a target. My fault for not explaining such to the shipper.
Re: Six Stolen 1878s
Was the insured?
Most item the seller just ship for low cost and no insurance.
My question since you never received them can you ask for refund?
Is seller responsible to get it to you or are you the one taking a chance?
I got a package once and package busted open and seller refunded my money.
If I buy big dollar item I have ask for seller to insure it and offer to pay for that.
To me cover yourself if possible.

Re: Six Stolen 1878s
Your package was sent Priority, because 1st class was 10 dollars more and you insisted on sending the least expensive way possible(I have emails to prove this fact)! Value on package(YOUR paid for value) was in agreement that I would NOT lie on customs forms(I have emails to back this up)!! The ONLY explaination you EVER gave me was to send as cheap as possible, because of TAX you would pay for your items and that's EXACTLY what I did!!!

Ya I know I told you that stuff before, it is all my fault.

As the saying goes..."no good deed goes unpunished".

Re: Six Stolen 1878s
Sorry for your loss! I ship anything over $500 registered within the US; takes extra time (and cost) at my end to tape all the seams, but have never had a package get lost that way, albeit transit time increases. Not sure how things work sent to our friends up north. Best wishes you can recover some or all your lost coins.
Re: Six Stolen 1878s
This sucks. People who do this will spend a special time in a special place...
Glad to hear about the Numismatic Crime Information Center as I believe I am dealing with the loss of a few coins, too. All certified so traceable, thankfully.
Is there no place on VamWorld besides here that we can post - and house - information on coins that have been stolen?
This would be a really nice 'service' for us all to help prevent buying anything that has been stolen?
Sorry to hear of this. Hopefully you'll get them back.
