1878 8TF Help !!!!!

So, purchased a small collection off a neighbor, included were some Peace and Morgan Dollars. Looking at this 1878 8TF this morning i originally thought Vam 6. Always had trouble attributed the 8TF's,not my date !!!! Anyway while looking at this coin i noticed a gouged area on the obverse.Did'nt get excited,figured how could anyone miss this !!! Checked the Vam pages all morning without luck. A1D reverse,should have been easy. Poked it with a stick and all that stuff and don't think a PMD because if you look closely,you can see that the hair overlaps the gouges and polish lines to try to remove them. Did my best with photos,take a look you 8TF experts and please offer your opinions and comments !!! Thank you.

Don't know Juan, in hand, it looks like a long gouge with hair overlapping it.
