You'll forgive me if my main takeaway from this is that Leroy seems to be in good spirits, and not that VAM 3FP was killed.

Absolutely. That was my reason for posting the entire letter; to let folks here know how Leroy is generally doing, and also the ongoing challenges he is dealing with. He is a treasure that we are so lucky to have.
