Hi everyone, something different, hope it's ok to post. PCGS and NGC could not authenticate. YES or NO would of be fine, oh well, money spent, no result.......

Hello, I have no idea on Authenticity. But, is it Over-Struck or Clashed. From your pics it looks like one or the other. Maybe if it is, you will have a better chance of getting it Authenticated. Have a Good Week.

and thanks for including pictures of the edge. I'm surprised you got two no decision verdicts unless that's become the stock answer

I am very much looking forward to the answer and explanation on this, as I know almost nothing about early dollars.
When in doubt... don't.

The edge looks a bit sharp.

Indeed. A genuine example would have been struck in a big screw press with an 'open collar'. The look of the edge alone is enough to condemn it. The weird depressions and little apparent strike thru spots only pile on. Overall it is well done, but looks copied

Going from memory --- but I recall many bust dollars having a slight "muffin top" roll-over from the rim to edge. The photos above don't seem to show it. Slight softness to everything, but could be the photos...?
With NGC and PCGS refusing to authenticate it, the consensus has to be counterfeit.

Quite a few similarities to the GENUINE COIN from the link that vampicker posted.
