Interesting 1923D W Missing info on the pages David Close Help

Post by twohawks » Sun Oct 18, 2020 1:15 am

I picked this up thinking David has to have this one, its too broken.

Well the coin imaged below has a dead bang match to the reverse die break on the VAM 1AE2. The listing states nothing about the Massive breaks on the OBV die. I glanced over the busted die listings and did not see one that matches this one. What am I missing? And if I'm not how could how broken the OBV is not be apart of its listing.

looks like to me the E1 is listed for obv break, which it mentions specifically in the obv descript and the E2 is listed for the rev break which is mentioned in the rev description.

looks like a simple situation of incomplete information being posted on the page. yet again. even after all these many years...

always liked these types of broken dies. i found this one a few weeks ago in xf/au but passed as i didn't wanna pay $30 or so for it. had it been unc though.

VAM 1AE2, this one is a nice LDS coin.
