New VAM-e by Leroy

Post by vampicker » Thu Sep 06, 2018 11:30 pm

Had to read it a couple of times to fully digest it, but it's a fascinating reexamination of the RPM on the 79-O VAM 4/28

Well worth the time to re and re-read it

Great read however VAM 28 is omitted.

Great one for sure. Are they hard in mint state?

Leroy's focus was on the RPM itself and why it looks the way it does. The obverse isn't part of the story he's bringing to light. The VAM 4 is much easier to find and is availible in mint state. Both VAM 4 and 28 are well represented in AU grades

Should it be uploaded to SSDC?

I had to read it several times. It seems he is saying it is an o/o/9o but the first two punches were horizontal, one above the other.

Thanks JR. I was pretty sure I've come across nice ones before but the way I read it, it seemed they might be scarce-ish in mint state. Or at least in the stage where the features would be the strongest.

If you didn't receive the VAM-e and are an SSDC member, let me know and I'll resend it to you on the 17th. I'm currently out of town.
