PCGS grades in..

Post by mark » Sat Sep 12, 2020 5:10 pm

Almost 2 whole months at PCGS. Maybe the lowballs added some extra time. :) Added some pics.

1878 8TF VAM-6 G04 (lowest graded pop 2- ebay)

1878 8TF VAM-20 VF35 (ebay pick)
1878 8TF VAM-22C - DAMAGED - Shocked actually, there was a slight rim ding.
1878 7/8TF VAM-33 MS62 (was MS64 in old ANACS holder) I liked the toning, thought it would come back 63.

1878 7TF VAM-113 MS62 (ebay pick)
1878 7TF VAM-166 XF40 (ebay pick)
1878-s VAM-57 - CLEANED - ridiculous

1880 VAM-9 MS63 (cracked from NGC MS63 holder)
1881-o VAM-1H/40 MS64 (cracked from NGC 64 holder, thought it had a shot at 65)
1886-s VAM-2 AG03 (1 lower, was hoping it would grade FR02)

What a pile of junk, even a Bunny Rabbit would not take them. So send them this way and I will put them in the melt bucket free of charge.

I would have a 2nd opnion on the 34A , the 9 isnt correct and I dont really see
the S mint mark with a spike , But these both could be worn and metal migration .
But I have had alot of issues with PCGS as of late messing up the attributes on the 1879S REV 78 VAM 34 , 34A and 34B and 35 . They have been not picking up the attributes correct . Heck out of 4 I sent in , they got 1 correct and I had to send in
data sheets to prove they where wrong on the VAMS . They did agree and got it right the 3rd time . LOL . So not to be a Kill Joy but I hate when PCGS screws up on these .

But Great Picks I must say . Excellent Picker and I am very Impressed !!!
Yep the 1879S rev 78 is just a Favorite of mine , so Im really into those . LOL
