1901-O Slanted Doubled Date, Doubled O Set High Tilted Left, C4 Doubled Reverse New VAM?
This one’s got a lot going on. I've looked at every C4 reverse and can't find it. New VAM? I’ll need three posts to get in all the pictures

1 Doubling top left of upper crossbar. Doubled denticles below date
9 Minor doubling top right outside of upper loop, bottom filled in but may be grime, closed 9
0 Minor doubling top outside left to right
2nd 1 Doubling top left of upper crossbar broken tip, slight doubling left of vertical.
Slanted Date, second 1 higher than first.

N in UNITED tripled at bottom like VAM-11, but this one is also at doubled/tripled at top.

Many laurel leaves doubled and have broken areas at edges. This appears to be a deteriorated hub as also seen on a 1903-P and other dates. Note that mark pointed to by right arrow is not on 1903-P.

Hi RMG1883CC and jgrinz,
Thanks for the feedback. I had reviewed the 1901-O VAM-11 listing and it is the closest for this coin of any C4 reverse but mine is not the same as the two, well maybe 3 versions listed there. I am having trouble figuring out what the Comments section is saying so I say 2 or 3.

But, before I go into details could someone fix the page for VAM-11? First it describes the MM twice as Tilted Right which is incorrect it should state Tilted Left. Also if someone can fix this please also change “Date slanted and in normal lateral position with 1 than the left 1. To “Date slanted and in normal lateral position with 1 higher than left 1.” This will match Leroy’s description in his addendum to the book. This appears in two places.

Attached are two full coin photos but my Dino-Lite does better with close-ups. Nowhere near the resolution of the Heritage Full Coin Photos.

Obverse: My coin does not have a die scratch under the eye show in Leroy’s pic, which is also on the two Full Coin Photos on the page, so not obverse Die 1. It does have a little thread like impression in the same region of bonnet as Leroy’s pic but he wouldn’t have missed the scratches in and near the ear that mine has. Also reverse is different than Die 1, see below.
Next is a broader view of the bust point with full date. I have also added a line from the front two points of the first 1 and it is a Normal date position. If someone has pictures of the dates for the other die sets I can do the same for those.

Reverse:
My coin does not have the die scratches in the left wreath opposite N of UNITED nor the denticle impressions near the arrows that are shown in Leroy’s pics for Die 2, so not Die 2.

I leveled the wreath bow ribbon bottoms and added a line across the MM of next picture. I was trying to calculate a tilt angle but I have to work on that more as it is subjective in picking the center points of the top and bottom of the MM.

I modified the picture of the MM, 20170301_164653, from the close up under ‘Additional photos’ leveled it, added a line and cropped it to reduce optical effect. This MM is not as high above the line as seen on my coin. Also note there is a small die gouge above the MM also seen in the second Full Coin Photo reverse. This shows that the reverse of my coin is from a different die.

Also the page close up has a series of die polishing scratches from a NE to SW direction across the wreath. My coin has about 7 distinct die polishing lines, lowest one a small dotted arch, next two up straight from NW to SE, next from SE to NW next straight same direction but less angle, next one almost level across and last from NE to SW.

I would like to note Additional Die Markers Reverse 1: Full Coin Photos - both sets shows a die scratch starting near the wreath bow then under arrow feathers and olive leaves. The second coin, which has a clearer picture also has scratch from eagle’s head in w in we, and from second set of right wreath leaves to eagle’s left wing.
