vam 2 is an unfortunate early listing that had incomplete information , and likely no longer exists.

Welcome, thekid, to the world of VAMming. Keep on looking at the coin for additional pick up points....PUPS.
Refrain from computing the total number of poultry... before the process of incubation has fully materialized.

Many dies of all 3 mints (P, S, CC) have a broken 'r', as this was a result of a break on the working hub. The next thing to look at is the area between the eagle's right (viewer's left) wing and leg, as there is typically some sort of manual re-engraving here.

It seems that those of us who are serious about 78-S wonder about
those who have VAM-1 and/or VAM-2 in their 1878-S registry set.
I an of the opinion that VAM-1 and VAM-2 should be eliminated from the registry set.
Also consider if 1E should be eliminated from the registry set.

i have no dog in the fight but would 1e be an elimination or a re-assign if the 1e came before 103.5? i presume it is a die classifcation problem?

presumptively to me if it is removed from registry, then getting leroy to do something would be the next step?

78-S VAM-1E did come before the 103 die 5, however 103 die 5 is listed along with its sibling 103 die 1 to 4 as sharing the same obverse II 15. Also, 1E was one of the early VAMs listed by Leroy and a few of the early VAMs have been eliminated i.e. V-1A, 1F, and 1H.
