It came out of NJ.
Re: USPS Shipping What a Joke
Good news, my package arrived yesterday. It was received by USPS on September 16th and delivered October 9th. I certainly didn't ding the seller but I did note on one feedback that USPS is terrible.

Package arrived. Bottom was torn open and taped closed. Coin was still in it.
Re: USPS Shipping What a Joke
There has been some discussion of closing the Post Office on Saturdays. My first reaction is that is not a good idea.
My experiences is that will not save money, as much as promote inefficiencies.
At a time when many people are laid off and purchasing on line, another delay isn't a positive move.
And for every person purchasing on line, there is someone selling on line.
Now is not a good time to impair the delivery of goods.
If the Post Office is having financial difficulties, there are other ways to solve the problem.

Re: USPS Shipping What a Joke
Some claim the PO is supposed to be run like a business. That is incorrect. The PO is, and has always been, a public service. It's purpose is to unify delivery of mail throughout the nation and to directly serve a very wide range of community sizes and locations.
A "USPS Business" would not support most local post offices or home delivery or a lot of other services. Rates would also balloon and effectively exclude many from using it. The result would be to encourage fictionalization and parochialism.

Before I make any errors of assumption, I need to know, is the USPS a branch of the government? Or is it an independent business?
That will help me determine if it should be run like the rest of the government or it should be run like a business.

Re: USPS Shipping What a Joke
I think it is referred to as quasi-business. Very complicated.
