The Numismatic Literary Guild Awards were just announced and Roger's book, 'The Girl on the Silver Dollar' won for best book in the Numismatic Histories or Personalities category.
Congratulations on an award well deserved.

Thank you! It took over a decade to research and peer review that one. Miss Williams did not want publicity and refused all interview requests except about the Philadelphia Kindergarten system. Social stigmas were strong during her lifetime and she would likely have been fired if she said anything about modeling for an artist. For those who have not seen it, here's the cover. The painting was made in Oct-Nov. 1876 by Thomas Eakins and Susan McDowell.
