Re: 1924-P VAM 1A
Do the words on the listing of the 1A2 need to be changed?
Re: 1924-P VAM 1A
Looking at the VAM 1A2 page, what does this mean? It seems to be in conflict with the statement that it exists without the crack over ST.
5/2016 - Does not exist as a separate listing, the die crack for which VAM 1A2 was listed is on all VAM 1A's including an EDS from this die which does not have the die gouge.

I believe its saying the crack is on all 1A's and the coin showed does not have the gouge.
Re: 1924-P VAM 1A
Is it just me, or does the crack we're discussing show between the rim and the T. Maybe it's not as strong, but it looks like it's there. Dr. Close told me he has an EDS of the VAM 1A dies without the 'bar' gouge that has the crack in question.

I have one John without the die gouge but has the crack above the VS. I just have never seen one without the crack above the VS. I see now what you are talking about, it has a remnant of the crack.
Re: 1924-P VAM 1A
OK. I would suspect, then, that the crack is on colwillys's coin, just not visible in the picture and/or obscured a bit by die wear. Sounds like the whole 1A1 and 1A2 should be consolidated to VAM 1A and the gougeless one referred to as an EDS of that die pair, but that's not my call.crabscrape wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 12:33 amI have one John without the die gouge but has the crack above the VS.
