1922 S V1O

For the darksiders, I have had this for a long time. I noticed it is listed as a R-7. I know the R ratings are kind of old and usually don`t mean much. Any ideas are welcome thanks.

ANACS label should read Rays on Top of Mountain Elite 30 - However my specimen in ANACS slab 5356152
graded AU 55 reads VAM- 10 RAY THRU MTN ELITE 30
According to the Page VAM 12 VAM 12A VAM 13 1922 S are designated "RAY THRU MTN"
Whereas, according to the Page VAM 10 VAM 11 are designated "Rays on Top of Mountain"

Seems to be Mechanical Error by ANACS.
Perhaps VAMPICKER can weigh in on this label issue

SSDC has 18 list VAM 10 . most are MS 61 to 66 .

VAM 1O Die Chip Below R, on the obverse. There is no mention of the reverse at all.

Brian had sent me pictures of this, of what I thought was a very good find and it has it listed as an R-7.
It is not the number 10 or ten, it is the number 1 and the letter O vam.
I have the vam 10, with the Rays on Top of Mountain Elite 30
I hope this clears up, this misunderstanding. Bert

I now see that the original post was about 1922 S VAM 1O ( one oh ) NOT VAM 10 ( ten )

The listing on the Page should read VAM 1o or 1'o' in order to avoid this confusion !!

Visual interpretation of this VAM listing 1O is difficult because it resembles (ten) but is actually (one oh).
There are solutions for this problem which are already in use for other VAM listings. The capital letter O
can be signified with an asterisk 'O' or spelled out (oh) .

I was just looking at some of the other 1922 S vams and I hate to bring any more confusion
into this attribution, but this might be another possibility, with 'a die chip below the R' vam.
The vam page does not have any pictures, but says ( Small die chip on top edge below R in LIBERTY)
It is the vam 1AO. Bert
