Seriously. Sit down for this one.
1884-O VAM 56A
The clash is not deep, but it has contrast like the 80 VAM 32. It likely did not last long.

Whoa!
Do you know how easy the clashing is to see when quickly going through row boxes JB? Does it take an angle to pop? And if not easily seen while quickly flip scanning, is there an easy naked eye quick-PUP that you know of?

I imagine it pops out when you give the coin a quick twirl in the light, but is easily missed if you don't. You probably don't need magnification, though.

I'll likely see this in hand in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to it landing on my desk. If I can get decent pictures of my own, this would make a great subject for an 'About VAMs' column.

This is a great site!
I am confused once again. Can someone explain to me those horizontal lines in the photos. Could they be roller lines? Very interesting coin. Thanks!

super clash. no E? and the lines have something to do with leroy's pictures, not the coin.

The clash wasn't particularly strong, actually. The hammer die was slightly tilted in order for them to come together like that,
and they were misaligned. This had to have happened during setup. According to Leroy, there's no other strong clashing on the coin.

The lines are from Leroy's printer.
