1899-o vam 11a?

Hello does this look like Vam 11A or is it to hard to tell based on the pics. Anyways I got it for a common 99-o price I think so I am happy.

The two breaks in united seem to be there from what I can see. Need a clear shot of the S in states. If the breaks are not there it reverts to vam 11. Tried getting this one many times

Might be too early for VAM 11A as shown. I see a lot with the cracks like that, but there needs to be wider breaks for VAM 11A. What complicates things is that the 11A discovery coin was VF, and the thickness of the breaks might be due to wear on the coin. I've been calling coins like yours VAM 11A EDS in case that's true. I have never seen an uncirculated one with cracks as wide as those shown on the discovery coin.

looking at the photos on VAMWorld comparing the VF coin and the other samples they are showing and what I can see on this coin it definitely looks like wear played a factor on the discovery coin shown on the site. I will have to take a closer look once I have it in hand though as the lighting on the pics makes it hard to tell. However what I can see looks similar to the early die samples on the site. On Ebay most the coins are listed as 11A I could not find any just listed 11

after you made that comment, i had to check the plates as it does seem that we never really see those breaks like the plates but upon revisiting it, imo, those breaks may be smushed a little but those breaks are pretty wide compared to anything else i've seen. i think i'm going to hold to the notion that a true 11a (or an lds if need be) is really just one tough coin to find.
