I had bought this 1922 S PCGSMS63, because of the gold toning
running through the reverse and had it unattributed for years.
Today Brian was telling me about his 1922 S vam 1O R-7, so I started
looking through my 1922 S Peace dollars and looked at some of the
other 1922 S vams, on the vam pages, on that date too.
I looked the vam 2X and to my surprise I saw the diagonal die gouge at
the end of the tail feathers, on my 1922 S.
Thanks Brian for getting me to look at my 1922 S peace dollars closer.
Here are some pictures and I also saw a diagonal line, between the
R and T, in LIBERTY and a curly line, between two rays, both on the obv.
Enjoy, Bert

Bert slow down and smell the roses . Check the VAM one more time .
Re: DARKSIDE find 1922 S vam 2X
Thanks Tom, I meant to say vam 2A, not vam 2X.
I marked it vam 2A on the slab.
I guess just wishful thinking, that it was a vam 2X,
with the reverse rim cud R-7.

Still a neat coin, very infrequently encountered.
