82 O/S

Post by JackBnimble01 » Sun Jun 21, 2020 11:32 pm

Just picked up some cheap Morgan’s
And this was in the group!

Coin was heavily carboned on
Obverse, reverse looks much better
The o/s was so easy to see from almost across the room!
Put it in acetone and obverse looks
A little better, but for 20 bucks not
To bad!

Vam 3 o/s bold= Yeah, obverse pretty rough & rev much better

My PUP for this one with pics is diagonal metal through D hair void OBV = SEE VW vam 3
Both vam 3 & 4 are attrib by PCGS as strong but NGC & Anacs do it right by attrib as v3 & 4
Vam 5 is o/s broken & called weak by Pcgs
From the o/s king LOL

Cool find. Whenever I get some circ rolls I always look for the O/S and O/CC's. And I tend to find them relatively often enough to make me wonder how it's possible with both how well known they are and how easy they are to spot even without mag. And its still a minor thrill every time. That one seems to have a decent amount of "meat" on it too. Are you gonna try reducing the obv darkness any further?

Thanks all for the nice words!
This was in a “junk” lot of coins
One coin was dipped in some kinda gold paint? My friend only wanted 20
Per coin, and I didn’t even look at the coins until I got home, and was pleasantly surprised by what was in there! Despite the painted coin!

Not sure if I should try to make the obverse of the 82 0/s clean up better? Or if I should submit to JB for a pcgs
