To be or not to be an 1887 Donkey Tail
Note the nublit of the tail,
Is this a VAM 25, VAM 25A Early Die State, or VAM 25A?
Most importantly, why?
Thank you... David

Not to be. You have to have the full die break.

Re: To be or not to be an 1887 Donkey Tail
The vam 25
Has at least 4 die stages
The veds (I have 1 in au showing pl fields)
The eds where the die cracks barely shows
One that has full die cracks but no tail yet
And this one(the one you’re showing)
I believe this stage’s right before it Formed into a tail die break
To be the vam 25A it needs to be the vlds die break with the full tail

So how does the foggy outline around the 7 that looks like it could have been a 6 develop over these stages?

I’ll have to look into it
But I believe is just die wear/erosion
Resembling part of a 6
Just like an overdate 7/6

I looked for this earlier die stage for a while but have not found it. Is it scarce?

Add some circulation grime and you have a dirty double crosser

Make it perishable circulation grime, and before long it'll be a dirty, rotten double crosser.
