22-D Poss VAM-2AC2 ?

Post by ljs123 » Mon May 25, 2020 4:12 pm

I don't spend a lot of time on the dark side, but I liked the cracks on the obverse, so I got it. If you all confirm this as a VAM-AC2, the page could use the LFCPs. Sorry that this is not a white coin. Maybe Dr. Close's DC is a white coin for LFCPs.

Nice coin. Those are some crazy scratches, breaks? So when does a scratch become a break? I am going to do a guess, when it reaches a certain degree of raised metal?? Be nice.🐍

Assuming you mean VAM 2AC2, then, it appears that's what you have.

Thanks JB.
Yes, I did mean 2AC2. I don't know how to revise the title, or I would.

Longstrider,
As I understand it, there has to be displacement for a break to be listed. At times it can be difficult to determine between a crack and a break. So even if a crack shows lots of raised metal, if there is no displacement of the field, then it is still just a crack. Or in the case of this VAM-2AC2 what looks sort of like a radial scratch, can be a break because there is displacement.
Here are a couple others that can explain it better if they have the time.

You can edit the first post of the thread (since it's yours) and change the title that way.

Thank you JB.
I tried that, but when I clicked on "Preview" the main title did not change at the top of the preview page, so I never finalized it. I followed through this time and what do you know. It works! :D
Thanks again
