Here's a Coin World podcast from late last year interviewing the "MAN" himself.
The interview starts at 31:10 if you don't want to listen to the interviewers for a half hour. It was worth the 30 minutes listening to him.

Enjoy!
If someone can post a link to that George Mallis video here too that someone posted last year, it would complement this thread well..

I think you might be referring to this one Chris.

IMHO= The stories of Vams, Development, Morgan finds and general
individual history from some old timers is to me, as awesome
as the vams themselves. I truly wish LVA & other old time collectors
could have related specific crazy coin stories of yesteryear.

Men like ASH Harrison, Logan Mckechnie, Lloyd Gabbert,
Gene Henry, more modern day,to name but a few, could
tell some real dandy historic events etc

Just in my collecting lifetime, i have some real history & stories
of actual events that are pretty cool Im sure we all have some
neat stories of our experiences.

I personally enjoy sharing a few stories from my experiences,
but refrain many times, as a few select naysayers, piss me off
and help put a negative slant from a positive post that is outta the
normal box paramenters.

I’m looking forward to listening to
The entire broadcast(s) that are
Being posted! I’m Sure I will enjoy his
Vast years of study!

Thanks to all whom helped me with
The info they have graciously provided!

Researching into MR Mallis the partner
And Heard that he was buying bags of Silver dollars, in the early 60s?
Can only imagine the fun of opening
Those hoard dollar bags, and being the first to see what was inside after many years of being Forgot, or misplaced by the treasury, as it boggles the mind how that many bags could be forgotten?
Ohh well that was probably a good
Thing for vam world and collectors?
Some have said that hoard hurt the silver dollar values at the time.
But I’m sure there are many thoughts on that.
Vams are COOL, as I have found many vams on coins, that were missed, but were already listed by
The seasoned vam brother/sister
Lover!
Do we have any lady’s that have discovered any vams?
Would be great to bring women into
The hobby, as I noticed at shows not many women seem to be into coins?
Blessings to ALL. :)

Here is my Numismatic Scrapbook Magazine from April 1965.
John Roberts mentions this article a few discussion above.
It contains LVA article titled 1878 7/8 Tailfeather Silver Dollar: How and Why.
The write goes from page 948 to 953. Two of the pages contain 12 pictures, six pictures per page.

The Numismatic Scrapbook Magazine from April 1965 is really cool. Thanks for posting.
It may be the end of summer before we can send any coins to LVA. Here in the Heartland we have not been able to see the mother in-law for over two months.
