I bought this coin last night, mostly due to the gouge running out of the "L" in DOLLAR. I have never seen this and I think I have looked at a large number of 1886 O coins looking at clashes.

Well with the coin in hand this gouge is real and it also has a lighter one running out of the MM. The coin looks to be a solid AU55

Is there a cataloged match for the lopsided mint mark set slightly left and upright?

See if it matches VAM-18 (I think that was the one). The date position more like the VAM-14. There are probably some unlisted pairings too.
