if you are tracking the coronavirus mess there is a new web site put up by Johns Hopkins that does live (or close) tracking and it is well organized and presented.

Not stupid..
CDC estimates* that, from October 1, 2019, through February 29, 2020, there have been:
34,000,000 – 49,000,000 flu illnesses
20,000 – 52,000 flu deaths.
Everybody needs to relax..

What's getting people crazed is specifically that the elderly in your life can die from it and that you might give it to them as a no or low symptom carrier. It's a "super spreader" which is the scariest thing about it. It appears that if you're even just exposed, bam, you have it. And that's scary.
