1878-s VAM-7 unusual?

Post by ashmore86 » Sat Feb 29, 2020 1:29 pm

Is this coin more scarce ? I have not seen this coin in NC so I bought it. Amazingly, I agree with the holder it is in. Does anyone know about theNuGrade service ? I’ll post the pics as soon as I figure out how to do I in the mobile app.

At least the 78-s Vam 7 is a Vam 7.
Is Vam 7 scarce? No, see them all the time
Now, is the holder legit? I’ve Never seen one before
Does it snap together?
The old adage comes true. “ Buy the Coin and not the holder”
Btw, I’ve failed this test, may times, when it comes to certain vams. 🤪

I think the VAM-7, if correctly identified on this slab is an interesting variety, due to the number of identifiers of the die. However it is not on the list of top popular VAM varieties. Perhaps the owner paid an additional fee for the slabbing research in order to solve any doubts in his mind as to if he owned a rarity. No problem at least you now know what a VAM-7 looks like.

Additionally the VAM-7 is wrong on the slab label as "Double Motto", since what its really listed as is a "Double LIBERTY", just sayin'..
