I stepped up for this 'pick
Just got an 1892-S in PCGS AU53 that... well, AU-anything for that date is expensive. But things get very carried away above that. Seller's pixs didn't show how VERY lustrous the coin is (what a relief!), but they were good enough for me to see this:

Dennis,
The 92S is nothing compared to the 95S which I know you are Top Notch! I can say back in the early years I was Blessed to get the only 92S I own for less then I got a 1922S, which I am still proud of. Oh an btw it did grade a AU 53.

Picked a 92-S in NGC 55 yesterday on eBay. Bid was $3300. I had a bid of $3677 ready to fire, but aborted. Exercised self control. Nice coin and might have crossed at 53 or 55. But I am not playing the game anymore. Did I save anyone money on that one by refraining? Item 142881334279 btw.

John:
This 53 is nicer than I could have hoped for, buying sight unseen and all. It looks like a bunch of raw coins that got sold as "B.U." that I saw a couple of years ago that someone got royally hosed on. It also cost less than half of what you almost bid.

Nice, Dennis. If you have some other PCGS AUs of dates near that, maybe send them in as a group for regrade. They might comparatively upgrade that piece, and perhaps others. There is no downside to regrade in holder. You get fresh holders and new sequential cert numbers too. As for the expense, thus us what I nearly always do with my 8 annual freebies from the membership.

Such a nice, clear example. And great pictures make a great coin better. I hope one day to have my office back with a better photo setup- someday.
