I kind of like this one. The VAM was eliminated and this is the one and only in a PCGS holder. Thought it was cool, not sure why.

I see some outstanding finds here.
My 1890 O PCGSMS63 vam 13A extreme die wear was my most exciting vam, so far this year.

Agree, some great coins finding new homes. Since I didn't find the 1891 o that I continually seek (VAM 9B), I'd have to say mine would be the 1890 o VAM 1B I acquired.

There were actually two of them. I know because I originally submitted them together in the same order. It was while the order was in process that LVA made the designation change. The coins went to different collector friends; one still has his and you now have the other, although it has been changed to a Gold Shield holder.

Wow
@rogerg I have a semi-PL (that should have gone PL) v6 in PC64, and in 4 they get expensive. A 6 must carry quite the premium

Yeah, population 1; and a heartfelt thanks to JR and ANACS!

Had an 1878-S VAM-6 in PCGS 66. Sold it years ago. DO not think I sent it to CAC though. Cert ended in ...213 but might have changed if sent in for regrade.

Really cool, thanks for sharing Dennis. Current PCGS pop only shows 1 but I still like it as a conversation piece.

Though, I did not acquire many in '19, I still love looking at this 1A3 from the wild I did acquire. It also came back in a ANACS XF 45 to boot.

Okay that photo did it! WOW that's nice. My top 5 were:
[5] I was trying for one of these myself, but settled for a 1A2. (I later found a raw F12 that revealed the E, clash and dome even better).
- 1891-O VAM 1A2, EF40 SEGS.
[4] Better yet - I was able to acquire the only 3+3 stage AOH, from
someone here
- 1886-P VAM 1C, MS62PL ANACS (3+3 stage AOH)
[3] The king daddy in my collection came after posting a question here, and learning more about strike troughs, planchet grain and much more -
[2] A second 1881-O VAM 47, in the wild (likely ≥MS61), plus a VAM 13 and VAM 53 to serve as bookends.
- 1881-O VAM 47 (should grade at ≥MS61)
[1] And finally, the toughest of the bunch was an 1883-O, 1C1! It was only AU, but nicely polished to make up for it
- 1883-O VAM 1C1 (AU details)

Impressive list of coin picks here. My 2 favorites found this year was my 8TF 14.6 and the oldest silver New Orleans which I’ve found so far - 1839 O Capped Bust half.

a new 1879s r78 that Leroy shot down twice as a vam 67, even though he admitted that he could not see any of the vam 67 markers. it sits at anacs, waiting and waiting for JR to see it. I may update this. also found another sue of the 1879s v66 obverse, which appears to be struck before vam 66 and 86-vam 109,
