What's your favorite acquisition of 2019?
This is mine:
PCGS tried very, very hard to convince me I should send it to them for inspection after I contacted Customer Service about it appearing as a generic 1896-O in my registry set. But in reading their emails it was crystal clear I would never get it back in a graded and attributed holder so, well... (colorful expletives deleted).

When in doubt... don't.

Mine was the 1903-O VAM-22 DC. The first OMG VAM listing by Leroy.

Getting my 78-P V166 back (re-acquired??) and upgrading my 21-S 1B5
Re: What's your favorite acquisition of 2019?
I guess it would be my upgrade 1902-O VAM-45A from MS-62 to MS-64 for my Kimpton 12 set.
Re: What's your favorite acquisition of 2019?
Since I have been out of the VAM acquisition game for quite some time, I will default to ones I have found in the vault that were forgotten and never sent to Leroy. In this case, they remain unlisted.
1888-O Near Slanted Date with spiked eye clashed with a transferred O mint mark - probably the choice if only one.
Beyond just the clash transfer, the obverse die matches none listed; reverse is unsure.
1901 doubled ear, beveled dies (both), eroded reverse die - likely an extreme late die date of VAM-19, where the VAM-19 weak doubling in the listing might be strike doubling.
More broadly, the rarity of the year for me is a Bust Dollar: 1798 BB-91 (B-32) PCGS VF30 Details. There are fewer than a half dozen of these known and this is the only one without a provenance.

Hmmm... not sure, but I think it was something minted out west in 1921... I swear I can't think of what it was though... I think I made mention of it here...

A bit off topic, but upon further review, my best acquisition of this past year is my granddaughter, Penelope. She is the one on the right. The other two are old acquisitions. All 3 are in Orlando, which is where I am at. Gotta skedaddle back to St. Louis to make a living before the FUN show, as usual.

Favorite VAM acquisition was probably this bad boy. Bought it from Andy Hansen at the ANA show.
